Prayer Groups in Schools logoPrayer Groups For Schools

People from school communities who meet together to pray for children and their schools.

Prayer Groups for Schools started in 1988, when a Sydney woman, Ann Harding, was given the vision of praying for her children and their school.

From here the vision spread to other states, and Prayer Groups for Schools started operating around Australia. Other countries have also taken up the idea.

The Victorian group has published a Handbook - this has sections titled The Vision, Aims, How to Begin a Prayer Group, Your Time Together, Prayer Guidelines and Suggestions for Leaders.

A National Day of Prayer is held around Australia to unite these groups and pray together.

In Victoria there is a Support Committee which provides information and support to the school prayer groups.

Victoria is the only state body still operating - if you live in other states, please contact the Victorian group for information.
