Greens same-sex 'marriage' bill - AGAIN!

Greens Senator Sarah Hansen-Young has re-introduced her bill to amend the Australian Marriage Act to legalise same-sex 'marriage'.

The Bill was introduced into the federal Senate in September 2010.

Now that the Greens have some leverage over the Labor government, this is one of the issues they are promoting.

The Greens are pushing both parties to allow a ‘conscience vote’ on the issue.

We want the major parties to continue to totally oppose same-sex ‘marriage’.

Adam Bandt, the Greens MP in the House of Representatives, recently moved a motion on same-sex 'marriage'.

Labor amended it - and then supported it. It then basically asked all MPs to CONSULT their constituents about their views on same-sex 'marriage'!

The Greens are lobbying, GetUP! is asking their members to lobby MPs...

The CHALLENGE IS - WILL WE CONTACT OUR MPs and PARTY LEADERS?

On 23 November, Senator Guy Barnett, Liberal Senator from Tasmania, said:  

"But I now want to throw out a clarion call, a call to action. You see, the Greens, with the support of Labor in the House of Representatives, have passed a motion and they want to get feedback from their local communities. I call on members of the public, members of the churches, members of families and members of communities right across this country to express your view."  

Gerard Calilhanna, of the National Marriage Coalition says:

"We are at a critical juncture for marriage in Australia - it is under threat like no other time before.  We risk losing it!   The best thing you can do, now, is to visit your MP with your spouse, in a small group, or alone, and make yourself heard!  A personal visit makes a lasting impression.   Please see the following document to help when visiting MPs on marriage.    Please act, and pass this on to as many like minded people as you can."

ACTION:

Please contact your 12 State Senators and ask them to oppose the Greens same-sex 'marriage' legislation.

Tell your MP in the House of Representatives that you do NOT support same-sex 'marriage'!
