Creating and aborting babiesbaby in test tube

IVF is often promoted as a means of having a baby when natural methods have failed. It is expensive and invasive as well as ethically questionable.

Women resorting to IVF are wanting to have a baby, so what do we make of a situation where the babies are then aborted?

A report from the UK reveals that a number of women who get pregnant in the UK are then having abortions.
The report noted that 80 abortions are done each year for 'social reasons'. These are not for reasons of possible deformities of the child - rather they are abortions carried out for social reasons. These are women who are so desperate to get pregnant that they use expensive and invasive IVF techniques - and then go and have an abortion.

Surely it is a sign of the sick state of our society that they then choose to kill their babies for ‘social’ reasons!

Rev Albert Mohler comments on this development, saying "Just when you think that every imaginable dimension of the great tragedy of abortion has come to light, along comes a report that will stop you dead in your tracks." He notes "These are successful and healthy pregnancies that were sought by these women"

Bill Muehlenberg also writes about it, asking "What are we to make of those who resort to expensive and invasive IVF procedures, only to abort the baby so conceived?  Read his article We create them and then we destroy them
