UK Sexual orientation (anti-discrimination)
Regulations
Last year the
UKgovernment passed the “Equality Act 2006”. This
Act contains many new regulations. The “Sexual Orientation Regulations”, or
SORs, are extremely dangerous because they ban ‘sexual orientation’
discrimination in the provision of goods, facilities and services.
Should the church be seeking
exemptions from bad law? We believe
NOT. A bad law, such as Victoria’s R & RT Act or anti-discrimination
laws like the one above, are simply BAD laws - they are BAD laws for everyone,
not just for ‘religious’ people. They take away freedom of thought and religion
and deny free speech.

Editorial “The science is clear: people cause climate
change” was the editorial headline in The Age on 3 February 2007. “Scientists

was the next line.
But what does this really mean? Which scientists, how many of them and how

It appears to us that these are the questions the headlines are designed to
conceal; definitive headlines that make you think there can be no doubt about
the issue.
What is clear today is that dissenting voices, however ‘expert’, are
intimidated and silenced by such headlines.
This is the same tactic used by various advocates: evolution - despite
growing evidence that evolution is a myth; ‘overpopulation’ - despite declining
birth rates world-wide and even ‘homosexuality’ - despite no evidence for their
claims.
There is little doubt that headlining ‘theories’ as though they are facts is
a political tool, an attempt by ‘man’ to be ‘in control’.
They are all based on the godless theory of ‘secular humanism’. They are
saying “there is no God, we evolved and now we cause whatever happens and only
we can change the present and redirect the future.
Yet, as Christians we know that the facts clearly show that there is design.
We know, in fact, that we are created in God’s image and that He holds the globe
in His hand (figuratively speaking).
We also know that while our sinful nature and refusal to follow God’s laws
and values can cause God to stop the rain or send the locusts or the fire, we
have little control over the climate or how long the world will remain in the
state it is today. We also know that nothing can happen to this world that GOD
does not allow to happen.
Ask yourself how much damaging toxic and carbon gases one large volcano spews
out in a few days. Some have affected the world for years but the doom and gloom
eventually surrendered to the light of the sun.
Ask yourself how we caused a year’s rain to fall in a little over ONE day in
Northern Queensland in
late January - filling dams and immediately removing the need for water
restrictions.
Take the population issue – has it ever occurred to you how incredible it is
that most countries populations are made up of almost exactly 50% male and 50%
female (give or take 1%) until man steps in and demands a one child policy or
until a culture decides it is better to have male children rather than female
and they abort the girls.
When a country starts artificially ‘adjusting’ the figures things soon get
out of whack. But that does NOT happen when we leave it in God’s hands.
How could random chance balance the population in such an amazing way? We
recently watched a couple of nature programs on TV, about salmon and king
penguins. There were regular comments about ‘evolution’ and yet there was a
recurring theme of how well ordered things were. How they find their way back to
where they were born from thousands of miles away; how they knew what time to be
there and how other animals also knew exactly what time they would arrive. One
indication after another of a totally ordered environment.
Yes, we need to be responsible and care for our environment, but if we think
we are in control, we need to seriously think again.
