As Christians we must put our faith
into action. . .
Prayer is an essential part of our action, but we must also "put legs on our
prayers" by writing letters, speaking to our parliamentary representatives and
being informed about the issues that are confronting society.
We are to be in the world but not of it - actively involved in making the
world a better place. We need to communicate the truth and the love of the
gospel to those around us in a variety of ways. In Matthew 5 Jesus said we are
to be the SALT of the earth. The Oxford dictionary lists "salt of the earth" and
says it means "people for whose existence the world is a better
place".
