Western Australia - Parliaments & Members
Western Australia has two Houses of Parliament, the Legislative Assembly (57 Members)
the Legislative Council (34 Members).
Each voter has one
representative in the Legislative Assembly.
For the Council, the State is divided into six regions which
each have five or seven members. These are elected on proportional
representation within each region for four year fixed terms. Thus each voter has
five or seven members in the Legislative Council. For more information visit the
WA
Legislative Council website.
The Australian Labor Party forms the government.
