Marriage vote this week! Please pray and act!

The federal Parliament is expected to debate and vote on the proposed amendments to the Marriage Act this week. If passed, the Bills would legalise same-sex 'marriage'.

In the House of Representatives, it is expected the private member's Bill from ALP MP Stephen Jones will be voted on. In the Senate a fourth Bill has been put forward by several Labor Senators - it mirrors the Jones Bill and that is expected to be voted on as well.

There are two things you can do...

1. Contact your MP and Senators.
Ask them to vote against same-sex 'marriage'.
If you haven't contacted your MP and Senators, now is your last opportunity - even if you have written, please email and phone them on Monday or Tuesday. Click here for MP details.

2. Pray that the Marriage Act will not be amended, and that marriage remains ONLY between a man and a woman.
Christian leaders in Australia have called  for a 'National week of prayer and fasting for marriage'. Saturday 15 - Friday 21 September, 2012.
The votes on the Bills are a key part of what we need to pray about - as well as the preservation and promotion of marriage.
Bill Muehlenberg writes about the vote on marriage - and the call to prayer:
